Area attractions offer information for summer fun
ALEXANDRIA, LA — Local attractions, area convention and visitors bureaus, and tourism partners invite the public to celebrate Tourism Awareness Day on Friday, May 2, at the I-49 State Welcome Center.
In celebration, the I-49 Welcome Center, located at Exit #94/Rapides Station Road on I-49, will roll out the red carpet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Alexandria/Pineville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, with area partners such as attractions, hotels and motels, events and festivals, and other partner organizations will offer visitors food, information about our local tourism activities, live music, and door prizes.
The event is free and open to the public.
In addition the Tourism Awareness Day festivities, the APACVB and Little Walter Music Festival committee invite the public to participate in a birthday party for Marion “Little Walter” Jacob – Central Louisiana native and renowned Blues harmonica player. Little Walter’s birthday would have been May 1.
This event is being held in conjunction with Tourism Awareness Month.
