Baton Rouge designer Anthony Ryan Auld wins ‘Project Runway All Stars’
BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA) — Baton Rouge designer Anthony Ryan Auld is the winner of the Lifetime series “Project Runway All Stars.”
The season finale aired tonight, Thursday, Jan. 17, and a special viewing party was held in downtown Baton Rouge at the Capital Park Museum at 660 N. 4th Street. It’s was hosted in conjunction with the Lt. Governor’s Office and Brother International.
"I've always struggled sometimes as an individual and wondered if being a fashion designer and being in the fashion industry is something that I should be doing," Auld said. "This clearly says that I should be. I've been very gracious about what I've been given at this point and I have to thank 'Project Runway' for really giving me that opportunity."
Before the show started, Auld revealed his Fall/Winter 2013 collection. Fellow All Stars designer Joshua McKinley also presented his collection. Auld also announce a special collaboration with the Textiles, Apparel Design and Merchandising program at LSU.
As the winner of the show Auld will have the chance to create a custom-branded capsule collection for Nine West, and will be awarded a cash prize of $150,000, a sewing and embroidery studio provided by Brother Sewing and Embroidery, an all-expenses paid trip around the world to attend fashion weeks in cities such as Paris, London, Milan and Tokyo courtesy of Laura Mercier and a technology suite/office space from HP and Intel to bring the designer’s creativity to life and run his or her business. The winner will also receive a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine and a position with the publication as Contributing Editor for one year.
Auld is a graduate of LSU.
