"Duck Dynasty" star kicked out of NYC hotel because employee thought he was a homeless man
Jase Robertson explains all on "Live! with Kelly and Michael"
NEW YORK — While in New York for a media tour, including a appearance at Live! with Kelly and Michael, a hotel kicks out one of the stars of Duck Dynasty Tuesday evening after an employee thought he was a homeless man.
While appearing on the daytime talk show with the rest of his family Wednesday morning, West Monroe native Jason "Jase" Robertson described what happened to Michael Strahan and guest host Maria Menounos.
“You know the first thing that happened to me at the hotel was I got escorted out,” Jase said.
He said, “I think it was a facial-profiling deal.”
“I asked where the bathroom was and he said, ‘Right this way, sir.’ He was very nice,” Jase explained. “He walked me outside, pointed down the road and said, ‘Good luck.’”
Jase continued, “So I circled back around, and my wife said, ‘What happened?’ I just said I just got kicked out.”
Jase laughed off the incident, and stayed at the hotel despite the employee's case of mistaken identity.
The Robertson clan appeared in New York doing a media tour for the fourth season premiere of Duck Dynasty. The premiere episode was seen by by 11.8 million viewers, becoming the most viewed reality series premiere in cable TV history.
The Robertsons are no stranger at this moment to the unpredictable. Jase's brother, Willie Robertson, said on Kelly and Michael many want him to run to fill the Louisiana Fifth Congressional seat once Rodney Alexander leaves office. "I just read I was leading in the polls as well," Willie joked, not taking the rumors too seriously.
Duck Dynasty, on cable channel A&E, follows the multi-generational Robertson family and their West Monroe-based multi-million dollar hunting business, Duck Commander.
Live! with Kelly and Michael airs weekdays at 9:00 a.m. on WNTZ FOX 48.
