Baton Rouge, La — Bill banning smoking on all Louisiana college campuses may become law
Universities across the state could soon be putting stronger smoke-free policies in place if a proposed law passes through the legislature.
Some LSU students say it's good for the health of students and faculty, while others say it's not a problem whatsoever.
The bill already made it through the Senate with no problem; the House Committee on Education is passing the issue on to the House floor for debate.
"Public universities - I think universities in general - their purpose should be education. I think if they ban smoking, students are going to skip classes to smoke off-campus," said non-smoking LSU student Hannah Marks.
"I would like at least a designated area so you don't have to inhale (smoke) if you don't want to," stated LSU student Joshua Smith.
