UPDATE - Mon. 06/24 11:54 a.m.: The Town of Jonesville is still under a boil water advisory. The water supply was turned off Friday night in the Town of Jonesville in order to make repairs to a major leak in a 14-inch line on Jasmine Street.

The pipeline has been temporarily repaired and the required part needed for permanent repairs has been ordered. It may take several days for the permanent repairs to be completed. Because of this, the DHH Lab declined to test the first sample, and instead will wait for the permanent repairs to be completed before running the tests. Therefore, the boil water advisory is still in effect.

All water used for drinking or brushing teeth, etc., must be boiled for three minutes before use. Any time the water supply is turned off, the town is under a boil water advisory until further notice.

As soon as the Dept of Health & Hospitals Lab advises of the results of the water sample, Jonesville mayor Hiram Evans will announce the lifting of the advisory.

Keep up with the update here on our website and Facebook page.
