BATON ROUGE, La (WGMB) — As the numbers continue to climb, so does the anticipation. The Louisiana Lottery has confirmed that the Mega Millions jackpot is now $640 million.

Across the country, including here in Louisiana, many are dreaming about what they'll do after winning.

"I guess…buy each family member a car, and a home,” Jan Soule, Baton Rouge resident, said when asked what she would do with the money.

Tickets are sold all across the country. In Baton Rouge many never heard of Mega Millions. But that didn't matter when they heard about the jackpot.

We asked people what they would do with all that money.

"I would help my mom out, finish paying all her bills,” Roycha Richard, Baton Rouge resident, added. “Help my family. I'd do an investment, and put the rest of the money up."

The odds of winning are one in 176 million, and taxes would be about thirty percent on the $640 million dollar jackpot.
