Monroe mall will host Miss Louisiana's Outstanding Teen Scavenger Hunt

Event leads up to 2012 competition

The Miss Louisiana's Outstanding Teen 2012 contestants are on the hunt at Pecanland Mall Wednesday, May 30, 2012.

The contestants will be participating in a Pecanland Mall Scavenger Hunt from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Pecanland Mall is located 4600 Milhaven Road in Monroe, La. It is an opportunity to see the girls having a ball and enjoying each other's company during competition week.

Miss Louisiana's Outstanding Teen contestants come from all over Louisiana. The pageant is held the week of May 30, 2012, in Monroe, La., with the competition nights on Friday, June 1, at 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, June 2 , 6:00 p.m., at the University of Louisiana at Monroe's Brown Auditorium.

Miss Louisiana's Outstanding Teen Organization, in its eighth year, has provided thousands of dollars in scholarship assistance for young women ages 13 to 17. The current Miss Louisiana's Outstanding Teen, Justine Ker of Choudrant, was able to garnish over $200,000.00 in scholarship assistance as a result of her competing in Miss Louisiana's Outstanding Teen and Miss America's Outstanding Teen competitions during 2011.

This year's pageant will feature 22 young ladies from all across the state of Louisiana, competing for over $12,000.00 in scholarship awards and the title of Miss Louisiana's Outstanding Teen 2012.

The preliminary competition will be held on June 1 at Brown Auditorium on the campus of UL Monroe beginning at 6:00 p.m. The winner will go on to compete for the title of Miss America's Outstanding Teen and have a chance to earn over $30,000.00 in scholarship assistance.
