SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — The Red Cross in Shreveport-Bossier City is busy today loading comfort kits, clothing and cots from their warehouse to setup an evacuee shelter on the LSUS campus.
Officials are preparing for the anticipated arrival of evacuees escaping from approaching Tropical Storm Isaac.
The Red Cross is looking for volunteers to assist with shelters. Training will take place at the Shreveport office located at 805 Brook Hollow Drive. If you are interested in helping, ca11 (328) 685-9545 and ask for Jodie Quinn.
Across the river in Bossier City, the civic center is also prepping as a shelter for special-needs evacuees.
Isaac is expected to make landfall sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
