"AMERICAN IDOL" finalist grateful to her home state support
JACKSON, Miss. — After a flight delay, eliminated American Idol finalist Skylar Laine arrived at Jackson Evers International Airport in Mississippi for the first time on Wednesday since February.
She's been waiting for several days since her Idol departure to come home, doing guest appearances and making her way through the media circuit across the country the last few days.
Wearing cowgirl boots and a camoflouage jacket, the first thing Skylar did as soon as she arrived was to give hugs to friends and family at the gate. A crowd of her "Skoutlaws" fan base armed with cameras and signs surrounded the exit for a warm welcome.
With a Sharpie in her hand, Skylar signed autographs for all the fans that have been waiting for her homecoming and took photos.
Skylar will be doing local appearances and performing to all her fans around Jackson who have shown so much support. She will also take a few short moments to rest before before returning to Los Angeles on Sunday for rehearsals to perform in the Idol finale in two weeks.
Then, there is the "American Idols Live Tour," which makes stops in Jackson and Lafayette, La.
The hometown support throughout the American Idol experience has truly blown her away. "There's no way that I'll ever be able, ever, ever in my whole lifetime, to thank Mississippi enough," Skylar said.
