Governor Jindal held a press conference this afternoon to update residents in Tangipahoa Parish on the flooding threat. He warns all to take the evacuation warning seriously.

UPDATE: We're now told that the dam is "damaged," which is less severe than they originally thought. However, a manditory evacuation still stands for all areas within a mile of the Tangipahoa River.

La. state government offices to remain closed statewide Thursday
