Saints players react via Twitter to NFL suspensions
NEW ORLEANS, La (WNTZ) -- The supensions of New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, general manager Mickey Loomis, assistant coach Joe Vitt and former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams in the bounty program scandal has many of the team's current and former players commenting. They have spent their thoughts on the NFL and its commissioner, Roger Godell, via Twitter.
Saints quarterback Drew Brees responded to the news on Twitter, writing, "I am speechless. Sean Payton is a great man, coach, and mentor ... I need to hear an explanation for this punishment."
Saints punter Thomas Morstead reacted when he posted to Twitter hopeful the team would move forward. "This will make for a great story when we win it all this year... Coming back stronger...Again! #whodat #Saints," he said.
Retired Saints safety Darren Sharper also made his feelings known via Twitter, while commenting on the lingering contract negotiations in the Saints organization to secure Drew Brees for next season. Sharper said, "Terrible day for the saints fan base! Ruling is very strong! Now it's imperative the saints get deal done with brees!"
