ATLANTA (WVLA) — The New Orleans Saints were greeted with a foul display Wednesday night at the Atlanta International Airport. Officials say the team bus was “egged.”
Greg Bensel, SVP of Communications for the New Orleans Saints, confirmed to CNN that that the Saints’ charter bus was departing the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport when individuals threw eggs at the vehicle. Players tweeted about the incident, saying that the perpetrators were airport workers.
“Bus just got egged after landing in ATL by the ramp workers. Classy!” was tweeted by Jimmy Graham, linebacker for the Saints.
Airport and airline officials are investigating the incident. Meanwhile, Atlanta Police will augment the airline security presence during the team’s departure.
Aviation General Manager Louis Miller emphasized that this behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
The Saints face the Falcons tonight at the Georgia Dome.
