BATON ROUGE — Governor Jindal has called for a statewide moment of silence for the 26 victims who died in the Sandy Hook tragedy. It is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21.
The moment of silence came at the request of Connecticut Governor Daniel Malloy, who invited the nation to participate. Government buildings across the nation have been asked to ring bells 26 times during that moment. Governor Jindal also requests all places of worship that have the ability to ring bells to do so as well.
The shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary happened one week ago on Friday, Dec. 14.
