BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA) — Severe weather could put a damper on Christmas plans for people in Louisiana.
We're currently monitoring a front that’s expected to start pushing through overnight. We will begin to see rain in our sometime after midnight and it could increase throughout the day, into the afternoon.
Areas north of I-10 from Lake Charles to Baton Rouge are under a moderate risk. That means we have a higher chance of isolated tornados, heavy rainfall, gusty or damaging winds.
Residents should consider taking extra precaution with Christmas decorations on the lawn. High winds could turn the harmless displays into dangerous projectile objects.
Those who plan to travel on Christmas day might want to plan for extra time. Click here to view all of the DOTD travel advisories.
