BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA) — The assistant coach for the LSU women’s basketball team was arrested for allegedly disturbing the peace in a downtown bar.
The Baton Rouge Police Department confirms that Tony Perotti , 36, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 12. We’re told the incident took place at City Bar on Third Street at closing time.
Officials say Perotti confronted a security guard outside the bar after refusing to leave the establishment. The guard alleges that Perotti used profanity after he was asked to leave several times.
An officer with the Baton Rouge Police Department was then informed of the situation. The officer allegedly instructed Perotti to leave, at which time he again refused.
Perotti was arrested and charged with one count of Disturbing the Peace by Public Intoxication and Remaining After Being Forbidden.
Perotti is currently in his second season as assistant coach.
An LSU spokesman told NBC33 News "LSU athletics is aware of these allegations regarding Tony Perotti and will not comment on this situation at this time as this is an ongoing legal matter."
