BATON ROUGE — Louisiana native and famous painter Amy Dixon came to Baton Rouge to show her fans how it's done.
Fans could watch her as she worked on painting a new piece. It was all part of a display at Ann Connelly Fine Art. Dixon was featured as a special artist for the 'Taste of the NFL' event in New Orleans. Right now she lives in Colorado, but she says she uses her time in Louisiana to get inspired.
"I think that there is really just a direct correlation between the arts and culture in Louisiana and the inspiration. I always jokingly say their must be something in the water," Dixon said.
Dixon's main area's of inspiration restaurants, food, and anything local. She grew up in Monroe, La. She went to college at Tulane University's Newcomb College in New Orleans. She spent 8 years in Baton Rouge.
