Louisiana — FEMA is sending Louisiana $6 million in disaster recovery grants.
Senator Mary Landrieu announced the approval of the grants this week.
The Department of Agriculture will recoup $3.7 million it spent on emergency protection and fuel distribution, while DHH will get just over $1 million for shelter and medical care provided by Woman's Hospital after Hurricane Katrina.
The rest will go to St. John Schools to reimburse them for transporting students to alternate schools after Hurricane Isaac.
