Indianapolis — As the NFL Combine finished up today in Indianapolis, former LSU Tiger Tyrann Mathieu seemed to impress teams.
“Certainly on the field, there is no doubt Tyrann Mathieu is getting the ‘wow’ factor today,” stated an official at the combine. “He needed a good workout and he is getting it today – he’s doing it."
Mathieu made his long awaited return to the field on national television, where posted a respectable 4.5 second 40-yard-dash time. However, he put up just four reps at 225 pounds in the bench press drill; most defensive backs can do at least 10 more reps.
Mathieu hopes today's performance helped him climb up the charts for the NFL Draft in April. He'll be back in Baton Rouge in late March for LSU's Pro Day, where he'll get a chance to improve his statistics from today.
