BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA) — Junior outfielder Raph Rhymes on Monday was named SEC player of the year by SEBaseball.com [1].
The Monroe, La. native leads the SEC in hitting (.469), on-base percentage (.522) and total hits (92) entering the post season.
He also ranks third in RBIs (49), fifth in slugging (.571) and ninth in total bases (112). In SEC play, he is first in hitting (.458), on-base percentage (.536) and total hits (49).
LSU will leave Baton Rouge Monday for Hoover, Alabama, the site of the SEC tournament.
