NEW ORLEANS — The next big blockbuster hit has set up shop in the Big Easy. Along with an interesting plot, the film is chock full of mega-celebrities, including one of the richest women in the world.
The Entertainment division of Louisiana Economic Development reports that the production “The Butler” has applied for the Louisiana Film Tax Incentive Program. That project is currently in pre-production in New Orleans and will is set to begin filming very soon. They will stay in the city through the end of July.
“The Butler,” which is directed by Lee Daniels, has a slew of big names, including John Cusack, Liam Neeson, Nicole Kidman, Lenny Kravitz, Forest Whitaker, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Jane Fonda. The biggest name, however, is that of Oprah.
According to IMDB, “The Butler” is the story of The White House’s butler, Eugene Allen, who served eight American Presidents over the course of three decades. The screenplay is based off a Washington Post article written by Wil Haygood.
