Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has declared a State of Emergency for Louisiana.
This means that state and federal resources will be available in case of evacuation and for disaster relief.
According to the Governor, the first shelter is being set up in Alexandria for those residents along the Louisiana coast to evacuate inland.
At this time, only mandatory evacuations have been issued for low lying areas of Lafitte and for tourists and campers in Grand Isle, La.
Jindal has issued a voluntary evacuation for residents in low-lying areas of the state below the Intracoastal Waterway. This may turn into a mandatory evacuation pending track and intensity of storm as early as tomorrow morning.
