BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The Louisiana State Troopers Association sold plates of the Cajun dish to raise money for the Trooper Charities Fund. State police say it's a good way to give back to those who spent the storm taking care of others.
"You know we have troopers who lost everything in the storm down in LaPlace but still worked, still were out there doing their jobs,” Trooper Russell Graham, Louisiana State Police, said. “So we want to take care of those guys and make sure they can continue to do their jobs."
A crew of volunteers helped serve the lunch and show support for state police.
"On a day-to-day basis they keep us safe,” Todd O’Neill, volunteer, said. “If they're not taken care of, we're not taken care of."
Louisiana State Troopers Association also raises money through out the year to host Make A Wish events and other charity programs.
