Hornets F/C Jason Smith to miss remainder of season due to injury

New Orleans Hornets Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations/General Manager Dell Demps announced today that F/C Jason Smith will miss the remainder of the season with a torn labrum in his right shoulder. He will have surgery to repair the injury early next week. Details regarding a rehab schedule will be released then.

Smith appeared in 51 games for the Hornets this season, averaging 8.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in 17:10 minutes per game. He is currently ranked third on the team with a 0.490 field goal percentage (167-for-341).

Additionally, Hornets F Anthony Davis (left shoulder sprain) will be OUT for tonight’s contest against the Detroit Pistons. His status is listed as day-to-day.
