Hunt continues for missing LA Tech mascot
Ruston, La. (KMSS) — A beloved Ark-La-Tex football mascot is still missing. Tech XX, also known as "L.T.", has been the official face of Louisiana Tech since 2008.
The 4-year-old English bulldog disappeared from the animal clinic where he was staying on Sunday evening. Dr. Patrick Sexton, a Louisiana Tech alumn, has been caring for Tech XX, since he became the school's mascot. He says a worker let Tech XX out into a secured area for a bathroom break, but when the worker returned, he had disappeared.
Since Sunday, volunteers have hung flyers and searched for the missing mascot. There is a $2,000.00 award for his safe return. Sexton says the university community needs the public's help, because they don't think Tech XX left on his own. "I feel pretty confident somebody took him. He's not gonna wander off, he's not gonna not come when called," said Sexton.
Caregivers say Tech XX preferred the air-conditioned indoors to the August heat, and English bulldogs are known to have health problems if exposed to the elements for too long. If you have information about the whereabouts of Tech XX, call the Sexton Animal Health Center at (318) 251-8283.
