Tigers avoids upset
BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA) — What looked like a runaway win for LSU quickly turned into a nail biter. The Tigers held a 17-3 lead in the second half but the Razorbacks fought their way back into the game. With time expiring in the fourth quarter Tyler Wilson’s pass fell incomplete and LSU escaped Fayetteville with a 20-13 win.
LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger completed 19 of his 29 passes for 217 yards. His lone touchdown strike was largely in part to sophomore Jarvis Landry who made a great one handed grab in the back of the end zone. Landry finished the game with eight receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown.
LSU now will sit back and hope for Auburn to knock off Alabama and Texas A&M to defeat Missouri. If those two things happen LSU will be heading to Atlanta for the SEC Championship game.
The Tigers finish the regular season at 10-2. It’s the season with at least 10 wins for the sixth time under eighth year head coach Les Miles
