LSU advanced in the Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament on Wednesday afternoon, as the Tigers scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and held Alabama to six hits in a shutout victory at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.

No. 2-seeded LSU (49-8) will face No. 3 Arkansas, which beat Ole Miss on a 10th-inning bases-loaded wild pitch earlier on Wednesday. First pitch between the Tigers and Razorbacks is set for 4:30 p.m. CT Thursday on the LSU Sports Radio Network and on SportSouth/Fox Sports Net.

Starting pitcher Cody Glenn (7-2) earned the victory after tossing seven scoreless innings. Chris Cotton, who has accounted for all of LSU's saves in 2013, earned his 13th.

In the opening inning, Sean McMullen singled, advanced to third when the ball went through the legs of the Alabama left fielder, and scored on a groundout by Mark Laird. After Alex Bregman doubled and Mason Katz walked, Raph Rhymes hit a slow rolling ground ball in front of the pitcher's mound. As Alabama pitcher Charley Sullivan fielded the ball and throw out Rhymes, the catcher left the plate open for Bregman to score from second. An RBI single to center by Christian Ibarra gave the Tigers a 3-0 lead.
