SALERNO, AFGHANISTAN (WGMB-TV) - LSU football fans aren't just in Louisiana.  There are dozens in Afghanistan!

In fact, Baton Rouge soldiers with the 1st platoon ''Voodoo" of the 926th Engineer Company painted a big tribute to the Tigers on an abandoned billboard in Salerno, Afghanistan.

The guys say they saw the billboard and decided it needed some color and paid a local kid $5.00 for some purple paint.  After they did their deed, they even paid someone to guard it.

The soldiers say they love their Tigers, and when they aren't on a mission, they're able to watch the games on the Armed Forces Network. They are looking forward to doing that January 9th, when LSU takes on Alabama for the BCS title game.

''Voodoo'' has been in Afghanistan since March. They'll come home for good in April 2012.
