BATON ROUGE, LA — Zach Mettenberger grew up going to Georgia football games and rooting for the Bulldogs.
Saturday he’ll get to play in the same stadium he remembers as a kid.
“It’s kind of hard not to be like that when you mom works there for 14 years and you know all the coaches and the players,” Mettenberger said.
Mettenberger’s mom works for Georgia head coach Mark Richt. She has this week off.
“It’s just another game. It’s unfair the situation my teammates and family are being put it. But, it’s just another bump in the road for us to get to where we want to be at the end of the season,” he added.
Zach started his college career at UGA before being kicked out of the school for off the field issues.
The strong-armed quarterback will lead his 4-0 Tigers to Athens Saturday afternoon. It will be a matchup of top ten teams and someone will go home with their first conference loss of the season.
