NEW ORLEANS — Even with, potentially, the worst defense in the history of the NFL, the Saints are still a playoff contender.
Although it would take a ton of help, almost a miracle, the Black and Gold are still mathematically not out of the postseason picture.
For it to happen, the Saints (6-8) would have to win their final two games of the year. They play Dallas this Sunday and Carolina on December 30.
That’s not all, however.
Four teams - the Bears, Vikings, Giants and Cowboys - would all have to lose the remainder of their games. Each team has two contests left on the schedule.
It doesn’t stop there.
The St. Louis Rams have to lose one of their remaining games. They play Tampa Bay and Seattle the next two weeks.
That’s it. But hey, there’s still a shot. A very long one indeed.
