BATON ROUGE, La (WVLA) — The NFL has suspended Saints head coach Sean Payton for the 2012 season for his involvement in the bounty program that paid players for injuring opposing players. Former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has been banned indefinitely from the league. Williams is currently the defensive coordinator for the St. Louis Rams.

Also, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Saints general manager Mickey Loomis for the first eight games of 2012 and assistant coach Joe Vitt has to sit out the fix games.

The penalty also comes in the form of draft picks as the league has docked the Saints of their second round draft picks in 2012 and 2013.
