BATON ROUGE, LA — Six members of the LSU Track & Field program have been honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for their tremendous athletic and academic performance during the 2013 season while earning USTFCCCA All-Academic honors from the organization over the past week.
Among the six Tigers and Lady Tigers who have earned USTFCCCA All-Academic accolades for their efforts in the classroom and in competition for the 2013 campaign include seniors Joseph Caraway, Laura Carleton and Lacey Sanchez, juniors Phillip LeBlanc and Jasmin Stowers and freshman Therese Jernbeck.
This marks the second year in a row in which both Caraway and Carleton have been honored as USTFCCCA All-Academic performers by the organization as team leaders on and off the track.
In order to qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic status for 2013, a student-athlete must have maintained a 3.25 cumulative grade-point average during their respective collegiate careers.
They must have also met either of the athletic criteria set by the USTFCCCA. A student-athlete must have finished the regular season indoors ranked in the national Top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the Top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA performance list provided by TFRRS.org, or participated in any round of an event at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
