BATON ROUGE, LA (WVLA) — All of Southern University’s sports could face postseason bans.
William Broussard, the athletics director at Southern, announced the news at a press conference Thursday night.
The NCAA is requesting paperwork on academic progress dating back to 2009.
Broussard said the athletic department and the administration are working late nights and weekends to gather all the information the NCAA wants.
The NCAA set a deadline for Friday February 21 for Southern to file the paperwork.
The university hopes have the postseason ban lifted before the start of the men’s and women’s SWAC basketball tournaments that begin on March 11.
The Southern men’s and women’s basketball teams are currently in first place
