Hurricane season in Atlanic to be less active than initially expected

Although Hurricane forecasters are still predicting an above-average hurricane season, they now say it will be slightly less active than previously predicted.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has updated its initial forecast for the Atlantic hurricane season they are now predicting 13 to 19 named storms.

Of those, six to nine will likely become hurricanes, and three to five will become major hurricanes.

Forecasters emphasize it should still be a highly active season, but just a bit less active than first predicted.
