Newly formed Tropical Depression #9 is approaching the Windward Islands tomorrow likely as TS Isaac.
It should become a Category 1 hurricane by Thursday morning, and possibly a Category 2 or 3 by Friday or Saturday. The most likely (though not definite) track will be toward South Florida early next week, and then it should turn NE toward the East Coast.
This track can and will deviate a bit, and it will depend on the strength of the high pressure to the north of the storm.
Residents along the Gulf coast have a lot of time to watch this one.
Hurricane Hunters aircraft will probably begin flying planes into the storm either this afternoon or tomorrow. Then, we will have a better grasp on the system, and the models will have more consistency.
