As Tropical Storm Karen moves north across the Gulf of Mexico, the American Red Cross encourages people to download the new Hurricane App to get instant access to hurricane safety steps and weather alerts for areas in the path of the storm.
The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Karen which has formed in the Gulf of Mexico. It is currently located near the Yucatan Peninsula.

Tropical Storm Humberto formed in the eastern Atlantic Ocean Monday morning. The National Hurricane Center predicts it could become the first hurricane of the 2013 Atlantic Hurricane Season on Tuesday.
