The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Karen which has formed in the Gulf of Mexico. It is currently located near the Yucatan Peninsula.

Tropical Storm Humberto formed in the eastern Atlantic Ocean Monday morning. The National Hurricane Center predicts it could become the first hurricane of the 2013 Atlantic Hurricane Season on Tuesday.
The National Hurricane Center named Tropical Depression Seven in the northern Caribbean Sea on Wednesday. Impacts are forecast to stay minimal in the continental United States, especially in the Gulf of Mexico.
